Sarah is an award-winning director and screenwriter with selections in over a hundred festivals and won several awards for her short films and feature screenplays.

In 2023, she sold her first feature screenplay, Window in the Wood, and is contracted to direct. This was all due to her recent success with her short film, VIOLAR. Additionally, she has written and directed a Human Trafficking 101 Training Course for United Abolitionists.

After experiencing six years in a church cult, she faced incredible trauma and psychological abuse. Through her understanding of human trafficking, she learned more about what she went through with manipulation and psychological control. This has taught her about the meaning of strength and created a desire for her to give a voice to those who have been silenced and whose dreams have been stolen. This inspired her to launch a non-profit using visual arts to educate and prevent exploitation.

She believes in using light and darkness to make points about the beauty and evil of this world. With the sudden loss of her mom and then later the shocking death of her brother, she knows the impact of tragedy. After experiencing grief and trauma, she seeks to use film to bring healing and to give her a way to face incredible darkness and pain.

She is passionate about exploring topics in Spiritual/Cult Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Human Trafficking, Foster Care, Suicide, PTSD, and Narcissistic Abuse.

“The art of cinema is the fire of the soul.”
